A disturbing night in an enchanted forest inhabited by witches and elves
The collection by Annette Kölling, the young German designer who lives in the Netherlands and who often draws inspiration for her collections not only from history and culture but also from Flemish and Renaissance paintings, will be set in an enchanted forest. A disturbing night time scene inhabited by witches and elves. This young designer and winner of the 2006 Alta Roma Next Couture Prize (research and experimentation sector) within the context of the Mittelmoda competition, will showcase her collection in Rome during the High Fashion week (27 – 30 January 2007).
The collection, to be presented on the Roman runway on 30 January (at 2.00 p.m.) at the Auditorium (sala B), consists of 13 garments. Classic wool fabrics, white shirts, 18th century inspired prints, floral motifs, decorations that are either hand-painted or engraved on the fabric using digital printing. The ethnic costumes and the wedding dresses worn by German brides from the North of Germany have served as inspiration for this young fashion designer who also proposes patterned fabrics reminiscent of nineteenth century motifs.
On the catwalk, magic spells and plays of light, where disturbing night time atmospheres populated by witches are alternated with luminous dawns animated by brightly coloured elves.
