Italo Marseglia was born in 1990 in south of Italy. The designer started to define his own vision of fashion during his scientific and mathematic studies: math, logic, and culture become the bases of his creativity. He moved to Rome to attend IED and graduates in Fashion Design in 2012. Italo started his career in haute couture, where he mastered the art of tailoring, manual skills, and commitment to perfection. Soon he felt the urge to began his personal path, renewing his prospectives and experiences by collaborating with Italian and foreign brands and many institutions and since 2016 he deals with his namesake brand. Nowadays, Italo Marseglia is sold worldwide from USA to Japan aiming to become the number one demi-couture Italian brand dealing with upcycling techniques and producing high quality garments.

Marseglia’s spring/summer 2020 is a brand new start to define a glamour aesthetic dealing with upcycling techniques. The brand pretends to reassess fabric industries’ production scraps. Lace swatches will reborn thanks to new sawing techniques and haute couture’s techniques. According to its main purposes Italo Marseglia wants to bring back to life production scraps gotten from precious materials. White and all its shades is the main color of this collection. Sophie Hallette, historical French lace producer worldwide famous, generously opened its archives offering laces to realize this project. Meanwhile Massimo and Federico Bassetti (owners of Fratelli Bassetti Tessuti in Roma) offered more than 100 meters of denim to realize the collection. Denim has been bleached with new techniques eco friendly. The designer focused his work on the basis of tailoring and wardrobe such as the white shirt declined into many ways from the long version to the chemisier worn under smoking jackets. Details coming from sportswear enrich all outfits.
