After she graduated in Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in 2002, Maria Elena begun to work in the fashion system at first with several experiences as consultant in some offices in Milan and then she developed, through the production of trend books, a passion for trends study and research. After winning the first edition of “Next Generation” in 2006, she begun working at Giorgio Armani offices and afterwards in Inditex Group as responsible for the brand Bershka. Today Maria Elena works as a freelance consultant, professor at NABA and ADL and, at the same time, she follows her own artisanal jewellery collection My Golden Cage.
To realize the new collection I was inspired by a Japanese photographer called Sayuri Ichida who portrayed in 2017 a classical dancer in a city scenary. My collection was born from this contrast, from the sinuous movement of the body and from the freedom it releases. Movement is conceived as shape, displacement, and consequently change. The lines become more soft, resembling nature-like shapes as leaves, feathers and migrating birds. Strong colors like orange, green and blue vibrate together with the gold color of the metal.
