PAOLI

The founder and creative director Alessio Paoli pursues his dream to take his brand to the highest standards with dynamism and professionalism, introducing every day new ideas and using unpublished technologies, always respecting the environment, to create items of rare beauty. The artist was born in the heart of Tuscany and since an early age he has been fascinated by great masters of fashion and by everything about luxury and niche sector. After finishing his high school studies he dedicated himself to different activities, but after a few years his innate passion for the fashion took over and he decided to follow his dream. For the first two years he worked as a self-taught in an artisanal workshop, where one of his greatest inspirations “travel idea” came into being. This drew origins from the need to recreate a retrò atmosphere, to reproduce travel items of the past in a modern way. A world where tradition and modernity, style and elegance, handcraft and luxury go hand in hand. Thus the first creations were born: trunks, suitcases, vanity cases and travelling set. The designer follows each step of their production with care and maximum precision, in line with the real “hand made in Italy”. Hence the idea of creating mini-trunks in bag versions and the ‘900 bag with a classic style, thus launching its first S/S 2019 collection. This marked the beginning of the collaboration with one of the most important Milan show-room Studiozeta, where he receives excellent feedback and lots of satisfaction. The second collection comes as an expansion of the first, with the inclusion of new materials and new models such as mini hat-boxes Paolina, Grace, Monaco and Victoria. At the same time he’s noticed by a talent scout of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and selected to participate at Scenario during the Mipel 2019 as one of the four best up-and-coming young designers. Thanks to the combative nature, the firmness and determined character, the designer was able to deliver his brand and achieve two collections entirely self-designed in just one year getting personal pride.

In this season I focused on giving continuity to the previous collection thus keeping the distinctive sign of my brand by inserting models with shapes and styles that relate to travel. I re-designed the Charme padlock – my distinguishing sign – to make it perfectly adaptable to these new creations, with the clipper version for Paolina, Grace and Monaco hat-boxes and the turning lock for the softer line bags: Victoria and Elizabeth. Different capacities and shapes allow for all sorts of uses and the warm colors are a reminder of the winter season. Shoulder straps and handles are strictly made out of leather. As for the materials, I chose once again the finest leather and I introduced the velvet, playing with the color of the accessories, making it slightly vintage and using antique gold to highlight contrast. This second collection marks an important collaboration with the award-winning Australian artist Sarah Hickey, of whom I chose two oils on canvas to be printed on bags using the best technologies thereby creating a small work of art on the mini-trunk version. This shows how fashion perfectly couples with art. This new collection is aimed at a wider clientele, with more practical models for everyday use, without ever losing sight of the elegance and style that characterize it.
